The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s compliance with domestic and international shipping, import/export, transportation, and regulatory requirements. This position coordinates closely with internal departments, customers, freight brokers, carriers, customs partners, and international suppliers/customers to ensure shipments and returns are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable regulations. They will also be responsible for the oversight and management of third party compliance reporting platforms like Assent and Z2data.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of international import/export procedures, documentation requirements, freight coordination, and RMAs involving international customers returning products to the United States. The Compliance Coordinator must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple shipments, vendors, and compliance requirements simultaneously. Regulatory compliance background in more than one industry would be most useful as Valin Corporation serves a broad range of customers.

Defense & Security, Government, Semiconductor, Electronics, Food & Beverage, Aerospace, Refining and Water Treatment.
- Coordinate and monitor domestic and international shipments to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Prepare, review, and maintain import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other required shipping documents.
- Coordinate international exports and imports, ensuring proper classification, documentation, and routing.
- Manage and coordinate RMAs (Return Merchandise Authorizations) involving foreign customers returning products to the United States.
- Ensure international returns are properly documented to minimize customs delays, duties, taxes, and compliance issues.
- Work with freight brokers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and other logistics providers to coordinate shipments and resolve transportation issues.
- Review shipping documentation for accuracy and identify potential compliance concerns before shipments are released.
- Assist with determining appropriate shipping methods, documentation, and regulatory requirements based on destination and product.
- Monitor shipments and work with carriers, brokers, and customers to resolve delays, discrepancies, customs holds, damaged shipments, and other transportation issues.
- Maintain accurate records of import/export transactions, shipping documentation, RMAs, and compliance-related correspondence.
- Assist with ensuring proper application of HTS classifications, country-of-origin information, export classifications, and other applicable trade information.
- Coordinate with internal departments including Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Warehouse, Operations, and Finance regarding shipment and compliance requirements.
- Communicate with international customers and suppliers regarding shipping documentation, returns, customs requirements, and delivery issues.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with applicable U.S. import/export regulations and international trade requirements.
- Identify recurring compliance or shipping issues and recommend process improvements.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and records.
- Stay informed of changes to applicable import/export, customs, transportation, and trade compliance requirements.
- Perform other compliance, logistics, and administrative duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.…
