Job Summary
The Painter is responsible for assisting the maintenance team members and Director of Plant Operations in maintaining all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, and equipment. Also responsible for performing routine, specialized painting, and related tasks to maintain the condition and appearance of the entire Midtown Park community.
Work Hours & Type
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Full-time.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance duties to complete all service requests for repair and maintenance of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes, and equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
- Assist in the execution of the preventative maintenance program.
- Communicate with Director of Plant Ops for needed technical advice, product information, research, and quality assurance guidance.
- Advise Director of Plant Ops of the overall condition of the equipment and furnishings of the community.
- Assist with Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures.
- Prepare various surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, burning, sanding, sandblasting, or other means necessary.
- Mix, match, and blend various paints, enamels, lacquers, varnishes, stains, and special protective coatings to achieve desired color, consistency, and drying properties.
- Keep up general maintenance by using caulks, putties, cement to plaster holes and cracks.
- Understand safety procedures for working on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts and must be able to use them properly.
- Determine quantities and request supplies that are needed.
- Clean and store tools and equipment as well as the work site.
- Have considerable knowledge of OSHA standards for chemical use.
Educational Requirements and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Must express or demonstrate an interest in working with the senior population.
- Must have basic technical knowledge and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment and possess a basic knowledge of construction principles.
- Minimum one (1) year of painting and maintenance experience.
