Janitor- 3rd Shift

Job Summary

$16.00 per hour. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of all buildings or work sites serviced by Flag Ship. Perform sweeping, vacuums, mopping, polishing, and general janitorial duties to keep every area safe and presentable.

• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and polish floors using industrial equipment.
• Clean walls, ceilings, windows, lights, and overhead vents; dust and polish fixtures.
• Wash and replace blinds; move furniture, boxes, and equipment as needed.
• Remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors with approved cleaning solutions.
• Maintain waste disposal: empty bins, replace liners, and keep garbage areas tidy.
• Operate and maintain janitorial equipment in good working order.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as raking leaves, cutting grass, and removing snow.
• Sanitize restrooms: clean toilets, basins, urinals, and refill dispensers.
• Clean restaurant and break areas: wipe tables, chairs, vending machines, sinks, and counters.
• Polish wood furniture, clean glass, and dust high areas and partitions.
• Keep janitor’s closet neat and orderly.

• Basic janitorial duties and safety practices.
• Good listening and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand and assist clients’ needs.
• Adherence to uniform and appearance standards when required.
• Attendance at periodic training and safety meetings.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Six months of commercial facilities janitorial experience desired.

• Small‑to‑large office or shop environments.
• Exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, cleaning products, and moderate noise.
• Safety glasses required during certain tasks.
• Fast‑paced setting with frequent lifting (up to 50lbs).

• Stand, walk, sit, and use hands repeatedly for long periods.
• Lift and move up to 40pounds of equipment, supplies, and trash.
• Perform repetitive arm and hand movements; climb stairs and work in confined spaces.
• Maintain adequate vision, including close and distance vision, color, and depth perception.
