Sr. Project Manager

General Characteristics

• Same as PM but handles large and complex projects and/or multiple projects at one time.
• Typical Direction Received
• Supervision received by Client Manager or Program Manager.

• In a supervisor capacity, plans, develops, coordinates and directs a number of large and important projects or a project of major scope and importance, or a number of small projects with many complex features.
• Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates assigned engineering work, as well as monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards.
• Responsible for developing and preparing project proposals and LOEs.
• Responsible working with accounting department for project billing, preparing and sending invoices.
• Responsible for collections including identifying client billing concerns and escalating them to supervisor/manager.
• Responsible for creating and communicating all project forecast, schedules, costs estimates, and financial reports with key project stakeholders.
• Responsible for assigning project tasks to Team members that align with key milestones identified in the project schedule.
• Coordinates with external stakeholders and subcontractors to ensure project schedules are met.
• Responsible for ensuring QA/QC processes are implemented on all projects under PM purview.
• Maintains accurate project records, including meeting notes, reports and correspondence.
• Conflict resolution with project stakeholders and reports potential client conflicts to the client manager.

• Directs several subordinates, some of whom are in positions comparable to Project Manager and Assistant Project Managers.
• Supervises, coordinates and reviews the work of a production staff of professionals and/or technicians.

Bachelor’s Degree

Registered Professional Engineer

Expected to be a Member of Professional Society and a Member of Technical Society
