Patient Capital is the specialty finance platform within Leon Capital Group, focused on delivering disciplined, innovative lending solutions that expand access to care and support the long-term success of healthcare practices. Guided by Leon Capital’s patient, value-driven investment philosophy, Patient Capital operates at the intersection of credit, capital markets, and real-world execution.
As the platform continues to scale, we are seeking a Portfolio Manager who brings strong credit judgment, operational ownership, and the ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment.
Position Summary:
The Portfolio Manager will play a critical role in overseeing portfolio performance, supporting disciplined growth, and helping shape the internal frameworks that enable scale. This role is designed for a hands-on, high-judgment professional who takes ownership beyond a narrow job description and partners closely with senior leadership on matters of portfolio construction, risk, and execution.
This is a high-visibility role with meaningful influence over how Patient Capital’s portfolio and operating foundation mature over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own portfolio performance, monitoring, and optimization across Patient Capital’s credit assets.
- Partner closely with senior leadership on portfolio construction, risk assessment, and leverage strategy.
- Serve as the internal authority on portfolio health, performance trends, and key risk drivers.
- Contribute to the design and refinement of portfolio reporting, analytics, and performance frameworks.
- Partner with internal teams to help design and implement an agentic approach to portfolio management, leveraging automation, intelligent workflows, and data-driven insights to enhance monitoring, decision-making, and scalability.
- Support structured credit initiatives, including warehouse facilities, advance-rate strategies, and securitized lending structures.
- Help establish and evolve investment discipline, loan acquisition standards, and portfolio governance practices.
- Translate complex portfolio data into clear, actionable insights that inform decision-making across leadership and capital partners.
- Take ownership of continuous improvement — proactively identifying issues, proposing solutions, and strengthening processes as the platform scales.
Qualifications:
- 7–10+ years of experience in credit investing, portfolio management, or structured lending.
- Hands-on exposure to asset-backed lending, securitization structures, and/or warehouse facilities.
- Experience operating within lean, growing, or build-stage platforms strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical foundation with the ability to move fluidly between data, judgment, and execution.
- Comfortable working closely with senior leadership in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment.
- High-agency operator with strong judgment, comfortable navigating ambiguity and taking ownership in evolving environments.
What Success Looks Like:
- Portfolio performance is clearly understood, proactively managed, and well-communicated.
- Leadership has confidence in portfolio insights, risk framing, and decision support.
- Portfolio intelligence becomes progressively more robust, scalable, and decision-oriented.
- Patient Capital is positioned to grow thoughtfully without sacrificing credit discipline or transparency.
Why This Role Matters:
This is an opportunity to help shape a growing specialty finance platform at a critical stage, balancing disciplined portfolio oversight with the practical realities of scale. The right Portfolio Manager will play a meaningful role in how Patient Capital executes its mission, manages risk, and builds a durable foundation for long-term growth.
