Become an integral part of the Corporate Responsibility (CR) team, working alongside dedicated professionals committed to generating authentic and durable social impact. The Corporate Responsibility Division leads the development and implementation of the firm’s corporate responsibility strategy by setting goals, policies and initiatives that align with our business objectives, reflect our values, and strengthen the communities where we do business. The division includes Global Philanthropy, Public Engagement, Global Government Relations, the Policy Center, the JPMorgan Chase Institute, and Sustainable Finance.

The Global Philanthropy team is seeking a Vice President, based in Dallas, TX, to lead a philanthropic portfolio that advances economic opportunity as part of the U.S. Philanthropy team. As a Program Officer within Global Philanthropy, you will develop and execute strategies for priority markets in the Southern and Midwestern U.S. This includes designing and implementing philanthropic initiatives aligned with the firm’s business objectives, managing a grant portfolio, and building external relationships to advance strategic priorities.

The Vice President will report to the Regional Executive for the U.S. Southwest Region.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop market strategies aligned with the firm’s business priorities and CR’s social impact agenda, including career and skills, small business and entrepreneurship, financial health, and affordable housing and community development
  • Develop and maintain a productive network of professional relationships with key government, philanthropic, business, and nonprofit leaders
  • Monitor social, political and economic trends that may impact market strategies and philanthropic activities
Cross-Firm Integration
  • Think creatively and identify opportunities for firmwide collaboration to drive impact, leveraging the firm’s assets and tools
  • Lead engagement with internal JPMorgan Chase stakeholders, including line of business leaders, Market Leadership Teams, cross-CR partners, and other functional partners such as HR and communications
  • Communicate the firm’s approach to expanding economic opportunity and CR initiatives to multiple internal and external audiences
Grantmaking and Portfolio Management
  • Lead philanthropic programs by developing, managing, and executing initiatives end-to-end, including concept design, through approval, execution to program closing, in collaboration with community partners, ensuring alignment with the firm’s impact objectives and adherence to established policies and controls
  • Provide robust budget management to maximize value of philanthropic activities
  • Assess the risk profile of the grant portfolio, propose appropriate mitigation strategies, and elevate control issues as needed
  • Monitor grant progress and systematically capture performance insights to inform future strategy; design and implement convening, evaluation, and communications activities that promote continuous learning and amplify impact
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in program development, implementation, strategy, and/or policy in nonprofit, corporate, and/or government environment
  • Passion for Global Philanthropy’s mission; deep knowledge of and experience in economic inclusion, with a focus on financial health, employment and labor markets, affordable housing and community development, and small business and entrepreneurship
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about solving structural issues, as well as program design and implementation
  • Understanding of grantmaking and the nonprofit sector; ability to assess track record and capacity of nonprofit organizations
  • Excellent relationship management and people skills; ability to communicate (verbal and written) complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Creative, flexible, and collaborative with an ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative; results-oriented
  • Bachelor’s degree required
