Job Title: Deputy Program Manager (Ground-up Construction of Jails)
Location: Dallas, TX (Near 75207)
Position OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic Deputy Program Manager with experience in the ground-up construction of jails. This is a high-level management position for a proposal we are bidding on, requiring not only strong technical expertise but also exceptional leadership and political skills. The successful candidate will need to navigate a volatile political environment while managing complex projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the overall program for the construction of jail facilities.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery and adherence to budget.
- Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with the project's goals.
- Handle complex relationships and navigate a politically sensitive environment effectively.
- Manage multiple project teams and ensure collaboration across departments.
- Oversee project timelines, budgets, and risks to ensure successful delivery.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders and manage any political or community-related concerns.
- Proven experience in ground-up construction projects, specifically jails.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to manage large, diverse teams.
- Excellent political and diplomatic skills to navigate complex, sensitive environments.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in a Program Manager or Sr. Project Manager role.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Experience with government or public sector projects (preferred).
- The job location is within 4 miles of the current courthouse in Dallas, TX (75207).
- Modest relocation assistance is available for candidates from Texas, Oklahoma, or Louisiana. Relocation from outside these states will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
