Ardurra is looking to hire an experienced PMO Director to join our team.

We are a nationally recognized engineering, consulting, and design firm providing complex services across multiple markets, including water, wastewater, transportation, aviation, and public works. Ardurra is known for its people‑centric culture, strong client relationships, and focus on delivering technically advanced, sustainable infrastructure solutions.

With our recent rapid, strategic growth over the past several years, expanding our footprint across the United States, strengthening our technical capabilities, we are looking to add an experienced PMO professional to provide strategic leadership for project delivery standards, ensure reliable project and financial data, and equip Project Managers with the tools, training, and oversight needed to execute successfully.

Primary Function

The PMO Director is responsible for enabling consistent, predictable, and profitable project delivery across the enterprise. The PMO Director, will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer, and will partner closely with Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership to improve execution discipline, margin performance, and delivery transparency while maintaining a practical, supportive, and non-policing PMO culture.

Primary Duties
  • Establish, implement, and enforce standardized project startup requirements, including budget setup, schedule baselining, risk identification, workplan development, and alignment with approved fees.
  • Oversee and support Project Managers in developing Project Management Plans and Quality Management Plans, and identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Serve as the enterprise “quarterback” for the Project Status Review (PSR) process, ensuring consistent, timely, and accurate reporting across all projects.
  • Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, and budget, partnering with Project Accountants, Project Managers, and Project Directors to track progress and corrective actions.
  • Track and oversee change orders, scope creep, client approvals, and significant Risks & Opportunities (R&Os), ensuring escalations are addressed with Regional Operations Directors and Responsible Functional Directors.
  • Standardize financial and technical project closeout processes, capture lessons learned from delivery and client experiences, and feed insights back into training and project startup standards.
  • Develop and maintain Project Manager enablement resources such as templates, playbooks, and checklists, providing coaching and guidance to PMs on change management, margin forecasting, and schedule recovery.
  • Lead the refresh and ongoing evolution of project management training programs, including Deltek Vantagepoint (ERP system) and PSR‑related training, ensuring they are practical, scalable, and tied directly to improved delivery outcomes.
  • Define, track, and analyze key delivery KPIs, including Earned Labor Margin (ELM), Estimate to Completion (ETC) and backlog forecast accuracy, timely revenue recognition, project erosion, and client satisfaction, delivering insights and recommendations to executives.
  • Identify and implement technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to improve project startup, reporting, change management, and overall delivery performance, balancing standardization with operational flexibility.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field required;
    Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in project management, project controls, PMO leadership, or professional services delivery
  • Proven experience leading enterprise‑level PMO functions or driving delivery improvement initiatives across multiple teams or regions
  • Strong background in financial performance management of complex projects, including margin, ETC, backlog, and revenue recognition
