Compensation:
Up to $250,000 Base + bonus About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a rapidly expanding industrial services organization to identify an Area Manager who will own and scale a defined geographic P&L across the Texas market. This is a foundational leadership hire in a Texas-first regional build, with visibility to executive leadership and influence across multiple service lines including Mechanical & Structural, Soft Crafts, Underground, and mission‑critical environments.
This role is built for a numbers‑driven leader who understands how to lead through people, drive margin performance, and convert relationships into awarded work. You will oversee a localized book of business (approximately $30M–$150M+), manage operational execution through Project Managers and field leadership, and play a key role in diversifying service mix beyond a historically electrical‑heavy portfolio.
What You’ll Do:- Own full P&L responsibility for a defined geographic area within Texas
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, backlog visibility, and margin performance across multiple concurrent projects
- Oversee operational execution through Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams
- Build and scale a regional leadership bench capable of supporting accelerated growth
- Convert client and industry relationships into secured backlog and repeat work
- Ensure safety performance meets or exceeds company standards (TRIR, EMR, leading indicators)
- Drive production accountability: labor productivity, earned vs. burned hours, schedule reliability
- Participate in preconstruction reviews to validate constructability, risk exposure, and staffing plans
- Identify margin erosion early and implement recovery plans
- Partner with Service Line Managers to strengthen Mechanical, Structural, Soft Craft, Underground, and Water capabilities within the region
- Support executive leadership in strategic expansion planning across Texas and the broader South footprint
- Maintain strong client, vendor, and peer relationships with a focus on long‑term regional embedment
- 12+ years of progressive leadership experience within industrial construction, specialty services, or mission‑critical environments
- Demonstrated success managing a regional or area‑level P&L ($30M+ book preferred)
- Proven ability to scale operations while maintaining safety, quality, and margin discipline
- Strong financial acumen: forecasting accuracy, cost‑to‑complete discipline, and margin protection
- Track record of building high‑performing teams and leadership bench depth
- Commercial credibility and relationships that convert to awarded work
- Experience operating within structured SOP‑driven environments
- Deep understanding of field execution cadence, production metrics, and labor planning
- Commitment to safety‑first leadership and top‑down culture reinforcement
- Ability to operate with urgency and decisive execution
- Must be locally embedded in the Dallas/Texas market (this is not a relocation parachute role)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the region
- Foundational leadership position in a high‑growth regional expansion
- Direct visibility to Regional and Executive leadership
- Opportunity to compete into future VP‑level advancement as the region scales
- Influence across multiple service lines and industrial verticals
- Strong centralized support functions—allowing focus on execution, not bureaucracy
- Significant earnings upside tied to performance
