Overview

My client is a nationally recognized general contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-value projects across North America and internationally. Operating as an end-to-end platform spanning engineering, design, construction, smart manufacturing, and equipment manufacturing, the firm is consistently ranked among the industry’s leaders. They serve a diverse client base across Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Data Centers, Distribution, Commercial, and Advanced Technology markets.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, and Life Science experience based in Dallas, TX. This individual will be responsible for leading large-scale, design-build industrial projects, serving as the primary point of contact for clients while maintaining full accountability for cost, schedule, quality, safety, and profitability. This is a high-impact leadership role suited for a seasoned project executive with a proven track record in managing complex, process-driven facilities.

This position offers the opportunity to lead multimillion-dollar projects from pursuit through closeout, mentor project teams, and play a key role in strengthening client relationships within a rapidly growing market sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all phases of project delivery from preconstruction, proposal development, and contract negotiation through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Maintain full profit and loss accountability across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Serve as the primary client interface, representing the firm in early project discussions, strategy development, and ongoing execution.
  • Oversee design-build delivery, managing engineering, design, construction, and procurement activities.
  • Ensure all contractual terms and conditions are fully understood and executed by project teams and subcontractors.
  • Drive project profitability, identifying opportunities to improve margins beyond initial projections.
  • Manage procurement of materials, equipment, subcontractors, and services while optimizing cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Lead and enforce safety programs, quality management systems, and scheduling standards across projects.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and support staff.
  • Oversee change management, cost reporting, schedule updates, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and lead project start-up meetings and ongoing owner, subcontractor, and internal team meetings.
  • Ensure timely documentation of delays, changes, claims, and schedule impacts.
  • Oversee closeout activities, including red files, job cost reports, maintenance manuals, and final turnover documentation.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure alignment with project objectives, safety standards, and quality expectations.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline required.
  • 5+ years of experience managing large, complex construction projects, preferably in the food and beverage, manufacturing, life science, or industrial markets preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing design-build projects across multiple contracting methods, including lump sum, GMP, cost-plus, and fee-based structures.
  • Proven history of full P&L responsibility on multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of contractual, legal, and financial implications in construction delivery.
  • Ability to evaluate cost, schedule, and scope impacts resulting from design or construction changes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and decisive in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Experience
  • Management of projects exceeding $10M in construction value, including at least one project over $50M.
  • Experience with process-driven facilities, including equipment procurement and installation within project scope.
  • Hands-on involvement in proposal development from RFP through final award.
  • Proven ability to develop aggressive schedules and accurate cost estimates for industrial design-build projects.
  • Track record of mentoring and developing high-performing project teams.
  • Alignment with a values-driven culture emphasizing safety, collaboration, integrity, and performance.
  • Market-competitive base salary commensurate with experience and project scale.
  • Performance-based bonus and incentive opportunities tied to project and company success.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
  • Long-term career advancement opportunities.
