The ideal Campus President is a creative, results-driven collaborator who can optimize technology, regional service offerings, community leadership, and business partnerships to position the College as the region’s preferred education and training provider.

This proven leader will bring a strong background in community engagement and campus leadership, along with the ability to innovate, execute strategy, and deliver measurable results aligned with the College’s mission. As one of the largest community college systems in Texas, the institution serves students across seven campuses and multiple community-based centers, placing students at the center of everything it does.

Position

Summary

The Campus President serves as the voice and face of the College on campus and in the surrounding community. This role is responsible for leading initiatives that support the vibrancy, growth, and economic stability of Dallas County.

This position reports directly to the Chancellor, who serves as the College CEO.

Sector Development

The College is taking an innovative approach to employer engagement, with Campus Presidents serving as sector leads for regional workforce needs. The Campus President will leverage sector development expertise to expand opportunities for student success by engaging one or more targeted industry sectors:

  • Healthcare
  • Business, Professional & Financial Services
  • Aerospace
  • Manufacturing
  • Information Technology
  • Arts & Entertainment
  • Transportation & Logistics
  • Construction
  • Lead assigned sector engagement for the region.
  • Develop and execute outreach strategies to drive growth in defined sectors.
  • Research and identify community prospects and decision-makers for education and workforce partnerships.
  • Build strong alliances with community and business leaders.
  • Monitor industry trends and develop innovative solutions to advance College outcomes.
  • Create and deliver compelling messaging for students, employees, and partners.
  • Maintain an active schedule of field visits, conferences, and association events.
  • Develop and manage contracts and agreements to support proactive renewals.
  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams on partnership agreements.
  • Model a collaborative leadership approach centered on student success.
Community Engagement
  • Serve as the face and voice of the College within the campus community.
  • Engage in outreach activities that expand partnerships and resources.
  • Collaborate with community organizations, chambers of commerce, school districts, and civic groups.
  • Advocate for the campus and actively participate in campus events.
  • Engage in cross-functional teams across Academics, Student Success, Operations, Workforce Development, and Community Engagement.
  • Develop and manage an annual prospect outreach plan aligned with College goals.
  • Ensure alignment of campus initiatives, communications, and employee engagement.
  • Inspire a values-based campus culture aligned with the College’s mission.
  • Model clear, transparent, and professional communication.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of the student populations served.
  • Master’s degree required; doctorate preferred.
  • 15+ years of management experience, including three years in senior executive leadership.
  • Subject matter expertise in at least one targeted industry sector.
  • Strong strategic execution and leadership alignment skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and data-informed decision-making abilities.
