Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Children's Health, our mission is not a tagline — it drives every decision, every hire, and every investment we make. You will join a team that cares deeply about outcomes, supports each other through complexity, and shows up for the children and families we serve every day.

We put our people first. We welcome, value, and respect the beliefs, identities and experiences of our patients and colleagues. We are committed to delivering culturally effective care, creating meaningful partnerships in the communities we serve, and equipping our team members to make Children's Health a place where everyone can contribute.

ABOUT CHILDREN'S HEALTH

Children's Health is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States, serving patients across North Texas through our flagship medical center in Dallas, our Plano campus, and a network of specialty care clinics. Our affiliation with UT Southwestern Medical Center positions us at the forefront of pediatric research, innovation, and clinical excellence.

Our mission — Make Life Better for Children — shapes everything we do; from the way we care for patients to the way we invest in our people and our future. The new Dallas pediatric campus is the most visible expression of that commitment: a landmark, $5 billion facility designed to transform pediatric care for generations.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The NPC Planning team is the core group responsible for transitioning the new Dallas campus from a construction project to a fully operational, patient-ready facility. As Senior Project Manager, you will own departmental activation planning across assigned clinical and operational areas — coordinating schedules, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder readiness from planning through go‑live.

This is a rare opportunity to shape a landmark pediatric facility from the inside, partnering with department leaders and subject matter experts across one of the most respected health systems in the country.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead transition and activation planning for assigned departments — driving schedules from current‑state planning through facility go‑live
  • Collaborate with department leaders and subject matter experts to define and validate operational and facility requirements
  • Develop detailed, integrated project schedules with proper sequencing across departmental and campus‑wide timelines
  • Identify and manage cross‑departmental dependencies — coordinating with peer Project Managers to maintain alignment
  • Proactively surface project risks and develop mitigation strategies before they affect timelines or budget
  • Leverage healthcare facility activation expertise to anticipate challenges and bring proven solutions to the team
  • Support and implement change management strategies that drive staff readiness and organizational adoption
  • Escalate issues and roadblocks to leadership with timely, solution‑forward communication
QUALIFICATIONS Required
  • 7+ years of project management experience
  • Experience as a Project Manager and / or Implementation Manager in a healthcare setting
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strongly Preferred
  • Hands‑on experience with hospital opening, healthcare facility activation, or large‑scale clinical site transition
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Graduate or advanced degree in a related discipline
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Smartsheet, or comparable project management tools
  • Experience with change management strategy and staff readiness programs
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE — FIRST 90 DAYS
  • Fully onboarded to the NPC Planning team, activation framework, and Yellow Brick methodology
  • Assigned departmental portfolios with active schedules built and baselined
  • Established working relationships with department leaders and key subject matter experts
  • Cross‑departmental dependencies mapped and communicated to peer PMs
  • First risk register reviewed and mitigation strategies in place
