Aboutthe Position
This is not a traditional Senior Project Manager role. You ll partner closely with executive leadership to oversee the successful execution of the company s largest commercial mechanical projects while helping strengthen the operational foundation for continued growth.
Rather than managing every project detail, you ll lead the people responsible for delivering them. You ll provide guidance across multiple Project Managers and project teams, protecting profitability, anticipating risks, and ensuring projects remain aligned, financially healthy, and positioned for long-term success. This role follows a hybrid rhythm of approximately three days each week at active project sites and two days in the Dallas office.
That balance keeps you connected to field operations while allowing you to participate in strategic planning, financial forecasting, leadership development, and executive decision-making.
- Provide operational leadership across multiple commercial mechanical construction projects valued from approximately $30M to $500M.
- Protect project profitability by leading financial forecasting, reviewing project performance, identifying risks early, and making proactive operational decisions.
- Partner with executive leadership to align project execution with strategic priorities and business objectives.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers while building the next generation of operational leaders.
- Support Project Managers and field leadership by removing obstacles, providing guidance, and driving accountability across project teams.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain a consistent presence at active project sites while balancing executive planning and operational leadership from the Dallas office.
- Champion continuous improvement through technology, AI-enabled tools, and operational best practices.
- 10+ years leading commercial mechanical construction projects.
- Demonstrated success managing complex commercial projects with significant mechanical scopes.
- Experience leading large, complex commercial mechanical construction projects.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop Project Managers and project teams.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and margin protection.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities.
- Executive-level communication skills with the confidence to partner effectively with senior leadership.
- Strong understanding of contracts, project controls, scheduling, buyout, forecasting, and risk management.
- Technology-forward mindset with experience using platforms such as Sage, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and other modern construction management tools.
- Willingness to travel each week.
- Demonstrated servant leadership with a high-accountability, low-ego approach to leading others.
