Our client is seeking a Director of Project Management & Construction to lead the delivery of critical water and wastewater capital projects throughout North Texas.
This executive leadership role will oversee the planning, design, construction, and successful execution of multiple utility infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on water treatment plants, water resource recovery facilities, and related water and wastewater infrastructure. The company partners with developers, municipalities, and utility districts to finance, develop, own, and operate essential utility assets that support some of the fastest growing communities in Texas.
Responsibilities- Lead a portfolio of water treatment plant, wastewater treatment, and utility infrastructure projects from planning through construction and startup.
- Provide executive oversight of project budgets, schedules, risk management, quality control, and resource allocation.
- Manage all phases of project development, including design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
- Lead contract negotiations and administration with general contractors, engineering consultants, and vendors.
- Direct construction management activities and ensure successful execution of complex treatment plant and utility projects.
- Build, mentor, and lead project management and construction teams.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for developers, municipalities, utility districts, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Drive project performance while ensuring compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company objectives.
- Provide project and financial reporting to executive leadership.
- Participate in strategic planning and help guide the growth of the organization's infrastructure portfolio.
- 10+ years of experience managing water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, utility infrastructure, or heavy civil construction projects.
- Proven success leading multiple large scale infrastructure projects simultaneously.
- Strong experience with contract negotiation, procurement, and project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, teams, and stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience overseeing water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, water resource recovery facilities (WRRFs), lift stations, pipelines, and related utility infrastructure projects.
- Background working with municipalities, utility districts, developers, or utility owners.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field
