Regional Director

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is an agency within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). We lawfully administer immigration and naturalization adjudication functions and establish immigration services policies and priorities. The Field Operations Directorate was established to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Western Region Office, Central Region Office, Northeast Region Office, Southeast Region Office, the National Benefits Center, the Immigrant Investor Program Office, 16 District Offices and 89 Field Offices located throughout the continental US, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Major Duties:
The Regional Director oversees and directs the Region's immigration enforcement support, adjudication programs and their integrity and related functions in accordance with broad program objectives across multiple geographically distinct districts. He/she enforces the Immigration and Nationality Act, and all other federal laws related to immigration and naturalization, executive orders, and policies established by DHS, USCIS Headquarters and Field Operations Directorate.

The Regional Director is responsible for a proportional number of all the employees and workload within Field Operations. The Regional Director administers key national goals and priorities for immigration enforcement, to include the immigration benefits program and is responsible for results to Headquarters' senior management. He/she collaborates with Headquarters in the formulation and application of broad policy and procedures that impact regional/district resources and policy.

The Regional Director advises higher management of current and emerging resource, citizenship and immigration issues. The Regional Director ensures that districts comply with program guidelines established for immigration enforcement, and the adjudication of applications for benefits and privileges and the naturalization of lawful alien residents. He/she directs the providing of information to the public, maintenance of records, and providing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) with information concerning criminal activities such as fraud and smuggling.
