Supervisory Detention And Deportation Officer (Unit Chief)

The incumbent will serve as Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer (Unit Chief), in ERO Headquarters Division. You will perform the following duties:

• Provide administrative and human resource management functions relative to staff supervised;
• Provide expert advice and guidance on broad projects and programs with national impact requiring extensive interpretation for many different and unrelated program processes and methods, such as interpretations of original legislative or judicial intent and advice on revisions to existing policies and programs;
• Develop long-range program plans, goals, and objectives and consult with all levels of management, other federal agencies, and with foreign and commercial organizations on matters related to the law enforcement mission;
• Direct, coordinate, and oversee the work of your assigned unit, to include enforcement, detention, and removal mission activity, along with budget and personnel functions and property accountability; and
• Perform administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing work of the unit (i.e. make decisions on work problems presented by staff; observe worker's performance; demonstrate and conduct work performance critiques; provide informal feedback and periodically evaluate employee performance; resolve informal complaints and grievances; recommend personnel actions as necessary).
