Summary of Position Functions

The General Manager (GM) is a senior executive responsible for the overall leadership, growth, profitability, and operational excellence of the organization. This role requires a highly experienced and energetic leader with a proven track record of success in sales, operations, engineering, and strategic business management within the ESCO, mechanical contracting, HVAC, energy services, building automation, industrial services, or related sectors.

The ideal candidate possesses 15+ years of progressive management experience, including leadership across multiple organizational layers and departments. This individual is a solution‑oriented executive who excels at developing people, driving accountability, creating scalable processes, and delivering exceptional financial and operational results.

The GM will provide vision, leadership, and direction to sales, engineering, project management, service operations, and administrative functions while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, customer expectations, and market opportunities.

Essential Position Functions
  • Develops and executes strategic growth initiatives that drive revenue, profitability, and market share.
  • Establishes short‑ and long‑term business objectives aligned with company goals.
  • Identifies new market opportunities, service offerings, partnerships, and expansion strategies in Texas.
  • Leads organizational transformation initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Builds and maintains a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Leads and mentors sales teams to consistently exceed revenue and margin targets.
  • Develops and implements sales strategies for ESCO projects, mechanical services, HVAC solutions, energy efficiency programs, retrofits, maintenance agreements, and capital improvement projects.
  • Participates in executive‑level client presentations, negotiations, and strategic account development.
  • Fosters strong relationships with key customers, consultants, facility owners, engineers, utilities, and industry stakeholders.
  • Monitors market trends, competitive activity, and emerging technologies to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Oversees all operational functions, including project execution, service operations, construction management, engineering, procurement, and customer support.
  • Leads multiple layers of management across sales, operations, engineering, project management, and administrative functions.
  • Promotes continuous improvement in risk management and operational excellence.
Non‑Essential Position Functions

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the operations, sales and engineering departments. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Veregy's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
