VP Compliance Job Summary / Introduction
Our client is seeking a VP Compliance to lead and oversee its insurance compliance program across life, annuity, Medicare Supplement, and supplemental health products. This role will advise executive leadership on regulatory risk, lead the Compliance function, and partner with business leaders to ensure products, operations, distribution, and third-party relationships meet applicable regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a strategic, business-minded compliance leader with strong insurance regulatory expertise.
Skills& Experience
- 10+ years of regulatory compliance experience within life, health, and/or annuity insurance
- Experience with life insurance, annuities, Medicare Supplement, and/or supplemental health products
- Proven experience leading a compliance function and managing compliance professionals
- Strong knowledge of state insurance regulations and market conduct requirements
- Experience with SERFF, product filings, regulatory examinations, and consumer complaints
- Experience overseeing advertising, sales practices, and producer communications
- Experience with third-party oversight, including TPAs and distribution partners
- Strong compliance monitoring, testing, and remediation experience
- Excellent executive communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to translate complex regulations into practical business solutions
- Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant insurance or compliance designations are a plus
Job Description
- Lead and continuously enhance the organization's compliance framework, policies, procedures, and controls
- Advise executive leadership and business partners on regulatory requirements and compliance risks
- Monitor federal and state regulatory changes and coordinate implementation across the business
- Oversee product, rate, and form filings, including SERFF submissions
- Lead compliance review of advertising, marketing, sales practices and producer communications
- Oversee consumer complaints and responses to regulatory inquiries
- Coordinate market conduct examinations and regulatory remediation
- Establish compliance oversight for TPAs, distributors, producers, and other third parties
- Support the review of complex claims, rescissions, and contestability matters
- Develop risk‑based compliance monitoring and testing programs
- Track corrective actions, remediation, and emerging compliance risks
- Lead, develop, and manage the Compliance team
