Job Description

We are seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead large-scale transportation and logistics operations across regional and national networks. The executive is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, fleet performance, and service reliability while supporting organizational growth and margin improvement initiatives. The VP of Operations will drive operational excellence through strategic planning, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with commercial, finance, and HR leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of fleet operations, dispatch, maintenance, and safety programs across multi-site transportation networks.
  • Oversee logistics planning, terminal or hub performance, and supply chain execution to maximize efficiency and service reliability.
  • Drive operational scalability, continuous improvement initiatives, and cost optimization across all operational functions.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other relevant federal, state, and local transportation regulations.
  • Build and mentor high-performing operations leadership teams, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with commercial, finance, and HR leaders to align operational execution with organizational strategy and business objectives.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and performance metrics to ensure fleet, service, and operational targets consistently achieved.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of progressive leadership experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
  • Proven track record managing large fleets, multi-site operations, and performance-driven teams.
  • Strong understanding of fleet management systems, transportation regulations, and safety governance.
  • Bachelor's degree in operations management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business is required.
  • MBA or advanced business-related degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience driving operational scalability, process improvement, and strategic planning.
  • Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
