The Regional Safety Director (RSD) has overall responsibility for oversight of all station safety operations in their applicable region and is responsible for ensuring all functions are performed in a manner consistent with the company, client and federal regulations and procedures. The RSD manages responsibilities for the Regional Safety Managers in their applicable region as well as assists other Regional Directors when the need arises to cover critical time sensitive issues or absences.
The RSD examines, analyzes, evaluates and supervises safety operations, inclusive of physical safety assets and safety personnel; prepares reports and records for management team; evaluates current procedures, practices and precedents for accomplishing activities and functions relative to safety.
- Manage team of Regional Safety Managers
- Set priorities and audit schedule for RSSM's
- Ensures RSSM's track compliance of their assigned regional stations to the IQSMS Program
- Ensure all stations and/or facility operations follow standard protocols and procedures in a consistent manner and in accordance with company, OSHA, FAA, EPA, airport and client standards
- Maintains expert knowledge of and ensures compliance with all applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations
- Investigates safety violations and prepares reports specifying preventive and corrective actions
- Watches for and identifies irregular or unusual conditions that may create safety concerns
- Ensures and maintains all safety related records as indicated by the local authorities, Airline Customers, FAA, and other Government Authorities.
- Prepares organization and staff for safety audits by third parties
- Ensures all Government, Customer, Airlines, and local regulatory safety requirements are met
- Plans, develops, and implements safety programs to test or improve safety procedures in place at each station and/or facility and throughout the organization
- Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in the provision of airport/cargo safety services
- A demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, FAA, and other applicable regulations and airport operations
- Possess strong leadership qualities
- Ability to interact cordially and communicate with company clients and regulatory personnel
