The Datacenter Network Shift Superintendent is the senior field leader on-site during assigned shifts — including nights, weekends, and holidays — responsible for the safe, productive, and quality-compliant execution of network infrastructure and structured cabling operations. This role directly supervises L3 Field Lead Technicians and, through them, the broader crew of network and cabling technicians, ensuring every shift delivers measurable progress toward project milestones with no compromise on quality or safety.

The Shift Superintendent's focus is entirely on the field: leading the workforce, driving execution, developing the team, upholding standards, and representing the company to facility staff and owner personnel present during off-hours. This is a hands‑on leadership role that demands strong technical credibility, crew accountability, and the discipline to maintain the same standard at 2 AM on a holiday as during a regular business day.

• Hold full accountability for all network infrastructure and cabling operations during the assigned shift, ensuring work advances the project schedule without interruption across nights, weekends, and holidays
• Direct L3 Field Lead Technicians on shift, assigning work fronts based on project phase, crew skill, and daily priorities; serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues, multi-domain failures, or field conditions that L3s cannot resolve independently
• Conduct a structured shift handoff at the start and end of every shift, communicating accurate status on open work fronts, material constraints, safety concerns, and schedule risks
• Make real-time field decisions to maintain crew productivity and address emerging conditions independently, escalating to the Director of Datacenter Engineering only when warranted

• Own shift-level schedule performance — track progress against the daily work plan and adjust task assignments, crew positioning, and work sequencing throughout the shift to protect milestone dates
• Monitor workforce productivity in real time; identify and eliminate impediments including access delays, material shortages, coordination gaps, and rework situations before they impact the schedule
• Prepare accurate shift reports documenting work completed, footage installed, tests passed, issues encountered, and next‑shift priorities; submit before end of shift
• Coordinate with the day superintendent and Director of Datacenter Engineering to ensure overnight and weekend work aligns with the overall project schedule and owner expectations

• Supervise, mentor, and develop L3 Field Lead Technicians; provide direct coaching on leadership effectiveness, technical standards, crew management, and professional conduct — and support L3s in their development of L1 and L2 technicians beneath them
• Set clear performance expectations for L3 Field Lead Technicians and hold them accountable for the productivity, quality, and behavioral standards of their crews; address performance issues directly and elevate to the Director of Datacenter Engineering as appropriate
• Identify skill gaps and development opportunities within the L3 team; communicate training needs to the Director of Datacenter Engineering and actively support L3 advancement into superintendent‑track roles
• Foster a cohesive, high‑performing team culture across rotating shifts where crew members take pride in their work and hold each other to high standards
