MaterialHandler – Dallas, Texas
Reporting to the Materials Manager, the Material Handler will be responsible for processing inbound and outbound shipment activities.
ShiftMonday – Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
What a typical day looks like- Load and unload deliveries using forklifts, dollies, or hand trucks in a safe manner.
- Verify the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against supplier count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, supervisor, and purchasing department per company policy.
- Notify supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
- Stage received material and product in appropriate location.
- Create shipping and receiving receipts within system.
- Perform inspections on received material and product; document and refuse delivery if material and product does not meet quality standards.
- Maintain inventory management systems to ensure that orders are updated and that appropriate billing documents are provided to accounting or other associated departments, as required.
- Staging product in appropriate staging area for pick up by shipping carrier.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or any related field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, detail-oriented skills.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiar with cycle counting, picking and posting, and working with an MRP/ERP system.
