Manufacturing Operations Manager (Mechanical Assembly) - Facility Build-Out DescriptionOur client, a growing OEM specializing in large-scale mechanical systems, is looking for a hands‑on Manufacturing Operations Manager to join their team in Dallas, TX. Reporting to the President, you will serve as the operational hub across production, inventory, quality, and engineering, and support the build‑out of automation systems and ERP implementation for our client’s new facility. This role is ideal for someone who has worked directly with mechanical equipment, fluids, piping, electrical components, or in assembly/fabrication environments, and who enjoys building structure where it doesn’t yet exist.
Rather than inheriting a fully automated, KPI‑driven factory, you’ll help shape how work gets done – designing layouts, improving material flow, organizing inventory, and aligning teams that currently operate independently. You’ll be visible on the floor, trusted by technicians and engineers, and relied upon by leadership as the person who can look at a problem and say, “We can fix this – and here’s how.”
This is a great opportunity to join a fast‑growing company, where your impact will shape the future of production and overall success of operations.
- Oversee assembly of large mechanical systems, working cross‑functionally to align priorities
- Serve as central coordination point for production, engineering, quality, logistics, and inventory
- Identify operational gaps and implement practical, floor‑level solutions (layout, flow, storage)
- Support the build‑out of tooling, assembly, vendor relationships, and internal processes
- Support ERP implementation, and prepare for future automation and efficiency initiatives
- Manage vendor relations to support automation and workflow systems
- Ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, and ASME standards
- Support leadership with capacity planning, vendor strategy, and operational decision‑making
- Engineering background (degree or gained by hands‑on work experience) required
- 5+ years’ operational leadership in manufacturing experience required
- Experience scaling production operations required
- Exposure to automation initiatives required
- Proficiency with ERP and business operating systems required
- Comfortable being on the floor, solving problems in real time, and coordinating across teams
