Overview

Continental Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of RF technologies and innovative solutions with over 75 years of proven performance. CEC has experienced significant recent growth and has established itself as the go‑to supplier for a diversified product line supporting a wide spectrum of markets from commercial products and military customers to space research laboratories.

The primary function of the Wiring Assembler is to perform a variety of electronic and mechanical assembly tasks and to grow as a versatile assembler. You will be using general tools such as soldering irons, cutters, wrenches, luggers, component bending tools, power tools, screwdrivers, vacuum equipment, heat guns, tie wrap guns, crimpers, and crimping machines (required to provide your own tools).

M-F 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (some extended hours may be required); occasional Saturdays. Hourly, non‑exempt.

Location:

willing to work in Dallas or Richardson as assigned. Eventually, the primary work location will be at 1401 E Lookout Drive, Richardson.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diverse electronic or mechanical production assembly tasks with high skill, knowledge, and versatility, meeting consistent quality expectations.
  • Solder, assemble, route, and secure wiring/cables into subassemblies such as panels and cabinets.
  • Work with hand tools and specialty tools as required.
  • Perform rework resulting from drawing change notices.
  • Cross‑train as backup in other areas of the manufacturing plant.
  • Develop working knowledge of the production environment.
  • Comply with manufacturing code of conduct.
  • Prioritize safety, quality, accuracy, and reliability of work performed.
  • Uphold the company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • Report quality problems or defects to the manager or senior management to enable corrective action and prevent recurrence.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned to meet the needs of the business at any time.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of related wiring assembly experience.
  • Experience with electromechanical panel wiring, cabinet wiring, PLCs onto panel enclosures, and wire routing.
  • Use and operate various computer systems and applicable software (e.g., retrieving work instructions or manufacturing modules in ERP systems).
  • Ability to follow technical drawings and assembly instructions and processes to assemble cables to manufacturing and industry specifications.

Desired Qualifications
  • 3–4 years of wiring assembly experience.
  • Familiarity with and certification of IPC 610 & 620 or J‑Standards‑001.
  • Awareness of Lean Six Sigma processes.
Working Conditions

This position works in a production environment with the risk of injury; safety equipment must be worn when operating equipment. Bending, lifting, and pushing up to 100 pounds (with assistance) is required.

Physical Demands

Required to bend, lift, push up to 25 pounds, and in some cases up to 100 pounds (with assistance). Regular speaking and hearing are required. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
