Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist who is proficient in operating mills and lathes to produce precision parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining techniques, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain manual mills and lathes to produce parts according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD designs.
  • Select appropriate tools, materials, and machining techniques to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Perform precise measurements using tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machines and troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Ensure all work meets strict quality standards and tolerances.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist with expertise in operating mills and lathes.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
  • Familiarity with various metals and their properties.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship in machining preferred.
  • Optional:
    Any specific certifications, e.g., NIMS certification, if desired.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with CNC machining is a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to adapt to different machining challenges.
