Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of this position is to operate a meat cutting machine to prepare meat for packing.

  • Load machine with meat and monitor to ensure the cut matches customer specifications.
  • Maintain yields and portion control.
  • Follow daily production activities assigned by the production supervisor and team leader.
  • Assist employees with job duties when needed.
  • Communicate between departments when needed.
  • Utilize machine to cut various types of beef products.
  • As production demand varies, all cutting machine operators are expected to have hour and day flexibility.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
  • Maintain all work surfaces, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized.
  • Keep up with all assigned duties on a daily basis.
  • Complete daily preventative maintenance of cutting machines.
  • Always follow the USDA, HACCP, SSOP, and Ben

    E. Keith’s food safety rules and regulations.
  • Always follow the Ben

    E. Keith employee safety rules and regulations such as Lock Out Tag Out.
  • Wear the required protective and food safety equipment at all times while in the production area.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Experience working with different meats and cuts a plus.
  • Experience operating a cutting machine helpful, but not required. Marel experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with pallet jack, forklift, or other industrial vehicles.
  • Able to multitask in a fast‑paced work environment.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Basic math knowledge.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet all day and work in a cold (32‑40º) environment.
