Position Description

Ryder is hiring permanent full-time skilled Construction Laborers to ensure expert craftsmanship at our manufacturing facility in Dallas, Texas.

Dallas Hiring Event – Walk‑Ins Welcome. Address: 1201 Big Town Blvd Ste 200, Dallas, TX 75227. Dates/Times:
Wednesday, May 13th 10:00 am‑1:00 pm and Thursday, May 14th 10:00 am‑1:00 pm.

Compensation
  • $18.00 per hour during training.
  • After training, a $0.50 piece rate instead of hourly rate.
  • Schedule:

    First Shift Monday‑Thursday 4:00 am‑2:30 pm.
Responsibilities
  • Use a pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered/hand tools to repair or assemble pallets.
  • Place pallets on repair table, remove defective boards, replace with new boards and secure them.
  • Stand for long periods (8‑10 hours) and lift up to 75 pounds throughout shift.
  • Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards.
  • Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from the pallets.
  • Use a hammer, grinder and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together the components.
  • Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table.
  • Ensure pallets meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
  • Wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 0 to 1 year in carpentry or construction background preferred.
  • Ability to comprehend basic math.
  • Ability to operate power tools safely.
  • Must be able to follow repair process.
  • Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch frequently.
  • Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8‑hour day).
  • Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.
