Building Assembler - Sheet Metal

Job Summary

The Building Assembler - Sheet Metal will support our production teams by assembling fabricated metal parts for substation building enclosures according to specifications.

• Review, analyze, and follow blueprints, diagrams, drawings, procedures, and work instructions to complete assemblies.
• Perform mechanical assembly of sheet metal and other components.
• Use power and hand tools (drills, impact drivers, screwdrivers, grinders) to accomplish tasks.
• Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm assembled products meet specifications.
• Identify product defects; record and report them.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies, tools, and parts at workstation.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Reading comprehension skills to interpret written directions, blueprints, wiring drawings, schematics, and engineering diagrams.
• Basic math skills for technical specifications and measurements.
• Basic understanding of tools (tape measure, impact drill, etc.).
• Proficiency in safely operating powered equipment (forklift, reach truck, scissors lift, overhead crane, etc.).
• Physical ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift, push, pull up to 35 pounds, and have manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
• Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
• Will wear PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hard hat, ear protection) while on the production floor.

Prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and performing repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 35 pounds.
