Leila Bakery and Cafe is a fast-growing artisanal bakery specializing in quiche, kolache, and scratch made pastries of all kinds. We are dedicated to producing perfect pastries every day and are always developing new products and flavor profiles.

We are looking for a skilled and reliable overnight baker to work closely with our general manager at our Lakewood location. This position requires dedication to the craft of baking, strong attention to detail, a high level of persistence, and enthusiasm for working as part of a team. You will be making fresh breads, scratch cakes, pies, custards, laminated pastries, kolache, and much more.

This position plays a key role in helping our bakery open each day with the freshest goods, ready for our customers.

Responsibilities Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods overnight

Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with food safety standards

Ensure all products meet quality standards for taste, appearance, and consistency

Manage inventory and ingredient stock levels for overnight production

Operate and maintain baking equipment safely

Help with packaging and finalizing items for the day s commitments

Collaborate with other team members to maintain efficient bakery operations

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in a bakery or culinary environment, preferably with overnight or early morning shifts

Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients

Ability to follow a recipe accurately

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation practices

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Strong attention to detail and a passion for high-quality baked goods

Flexibility and a positive attitude

Schedule & Compensation

Schedule:

Full-time, Overnight Shift (typically 10:00am 6am, but also open to 12am - 8:00am, 5 days per week)
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience (starting at $18.00/hour), plus benefits including twice annual merit bonuses and access to health insurance once employed for 6 months.

Free pastry and coffee while on shift, employee discount, lots of tastes, samples, and snacks.
