Are you ready to illuminate your career with a dynamic and innovative team? Heads Up Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Metal Finisher/Deburrer (Part‑time) to join our team. The Metal Finisher/Deburrer is an entry‑level position for individuals interested in pursuing a career in machine tool technology and/or aerospace technology. You’ll play a vital role ensuring metal finishing is performed to meet the high standards of our customers.

Hours:
Our normal working hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday‑Friday with an unpaid 30‑minute lunch. Employees can work with their supervisor to have some flexibility in their schedule. - Location:
This is a full‑time onsite position located in Addison, TX. - Compensation:
Based on qualifications and comprehensive benefits package. - Work Eligibility:
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Primary job responsibility is to perform metal finishing work for high touch aircraft switch and bezel machined parts including but not limited to finishing of black anodized parts pre‑ and post‑anodizing.
- Must be able to perform deburring, sanding, soda blasting, and fine detailing of small parts.
- Clean machined parts, perform wet sanding as required. Use compressed air to clean parts and visually inspect.
- As instructed by lead, assist engineering department with prototype, modifying existing parts, and fixture projects.
- Assist and train on manual milling, tool room lathe work, and flatbed lasering.
- Maintain all quality and safety standards.
- Keep work area clean at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Skills in troubleshooting problems and finding solutions.
- Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with other technicians when necessary.
- Ability to work repetitive tasks and maintain focus.
- Able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Additional technical or vocational training in finishing techniques is a plus.
- Skills in positions such as autobody repair, automotive detailer, and automotive painter can provide transferrable skills.
- Familiarity reading blueprints/drawings, AS9100 quality control, ESD requirements, and S5 methodology.
- Minimum two years’ experience with free standing or benchtop power tools such as: drill press, belt/disc sander, table saw, band saw, radial arm saw, chop saw, media blast cabinet, bench shear and router with or without lift.
- Minimum two years’ experience with industrial type adhesives/chemicals/materials such as: epoxy, polyurethanes, plastics, silicone, acrylics, color dies/pigments.
- Minimum three years’ experience in hand fabrication/finishing of end user/customer‑facing parts where cosmetic excellence is critical.
