Forklift Operator
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator for our receiving department, experienced in loading/unloading heavy loads onto flatbed trailers. The ideal candidate should have strong forklift operation skills and a focus on safety. If you have a proven track record in this area, we encourage you to apply.
Essential Responsibilities- Operate a forklift to move products and pallets throughout the warehouse in a safe manner.
- Communicate any discrepancies, product issues, or safety issues with the Supervisor.
- Ensure that product is moved and scanned using a radio frequency scanner to the correct location and confirm product labels are accurate.
- Maintain a clean and safe area free of debris.
- Anticipate the needs of the business, keeping like products together and accessible.
- Successfully pass all Novo forklift training and operate a forklift following all safety requirements established within Novo.
- May place standup items into designated areas by hand as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements.
- Ability to move awkward product lengths and weight.
- Experience with operating a forklift with a rate rating of 6,500 pounds.
- Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company‑approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Flexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as needed.
- Prior experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating a forklift primarily with product weights of 2,500 lbs. or more.
- Prior experience lifting wide loads as long as 18 feet.
- Minimum one year of experience operating a forklift.
- High School Diploma or GED.
