Position Summary
The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for improving manufacturing and operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and on‑time delivery. This role focuses on analyzing workflows, optimizing production systems, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. The Industrial Engineer partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective execution of production plans and achievement of key performance objectives. The ideal candidate is analytical, data-driven, and experienced in manufacturing processes, process optimization, and performance improvement methodologies.
This position reports to the General Manager.
- Lead day‑to‑day manufacturing activities related to modular reconfigurations, makeover builds, and modification projects.
- Ensure efficient execution of manufacturing schedules while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
- Manage labor allocation, workflow balancing, and production priorities to meet internal and external delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering, project management, procurement, and logistics.
- Maintain strong understanding of production scheduling, master scheduling, capacity planning, and manufacturing lead times.
- Drive On‑Time Delivery (OTD) performance through disciplined schedule management and operational execution.
- Develop, track, and report KPIs including OTD, labor efficiency, productivity, quality metrics, downtime, and safety performance.
- Utilize data analytics and operational reporting to identify trends and drive operational improvements.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety‑first culture throughout manufacturing operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, leads, and manufacturing personnel.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and 7–10 years of relevant manufacturing leadership experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Prior experience in modular manufacturing, construction manufacturing, or custom manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and industrial engineering principles
- Experience with process improvement and operational optimization
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach
- Knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, and workflow analysis
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production data analysis tools preferred
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support decision‑making
