QI Tech Inc. is seeking a skilled and hands-on Cable Manufacturing & Equipment Commissioning Engineer to join our production team in Dallas. The ideal candidate will possess deep practical knowledge of cable manufacturing processes and have proven experience in commissioning and troubleshooting production equipment. This role is critical to ensuring our manufacturing operations run efficiently, meet the highest quality standards, and support our growth as a domestic producer.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and optimize daily production processes for cable manufacturing, including insulation, stranding, cabling, and sheathing.
- Lead the on-site commissioning, testing, performance verification, and acceptance of new or modified cable production machinery.
- Analyze complex technical issues on the production floor, identify root causes, and implement effective, timely solutions to minimize downtime and improve yield.
- Ensure all manufacturing activities strictly comply with relevant industry standards, with a strong focus on UL standards (e.g., UL 83, UL 444).
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality Assurance, Maintenance) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain detailed equipment documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Proven, verifiable experience working in a cable or wire manufacturing environment is ESSENTIAL
. - Required Technical Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of core cable manufacturing processes (insulation, stranding, cabling).
- Hands‑on ability to set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and conduct final acceptance of cable production equipment.
- Working knowledge and application of UL standards in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong analytical and systematic problem‑solving skills (e.g., 8D, Root Cause Analysis).
- Required
Soft Skills: - Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with technicians and management.
- Preferred:
- Relevant industry certifications are a plus.
