Job Description
The day‑to‑day responsibilities and requirements for this role generally include the following:
Core Responsibilities- Fabrication: Construct weldments and assemblies for custom overhead cranes, working directly with the production manager.
- Material Preparation: Use equipment to clean, prepare, cut, and fit components before welding.
- Blueprint Reading: Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to build cranes to exact specifications.
- Material Handling: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts to move heavy materials around the shop floor.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA and internal safety policies.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a fast‑paced welding and fabricating environment.
- Welding Techniques: Proficiency in gas shielded flux‑cored arc welding (FCAW) is required; knowledge of Sub‑Arc welding is a plus.
- Cutting: Familiarity with Oxy/Acetylene cutting torches.
- Testing: Ability to pass an in‑house fillet weld test during the interview process.
