Purpose
To operate machinery in a manner that maximizes production and efficiency.
Responsibilities- Responsible for completing specification, set up sine pump and piping according to instruction manual and piping diagram.
- Switch CIP jumpers back to production.
- Power up; turn power on since pumps, surge hoppers, and On Packs.
- Check on Pack parameter settings.
- Conduct a seal strength test as outlined in operator’s manual.
- Check printer for proper code date.
- Set Kettle screen to automatic mode.
- Responsible for dry pick up. Break down at end of shift following set up/break down procedures.
- In total responsible to set up equipment at start of shift.
- To check printers for proper product code, to rework hot rework in a timely manner in accordance with rework program.
- To run product in accordance with customer specifications and quality standards with rework program.
- To run product in accordance with customer specifications and quality standards.
- To weigh product in accordance with SPC program.
- To break down equipment at end of shift.
Frequently requires standing, lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties.
Work conditions vary; quitting time will vary based upon production needs, and flexibility is critical. Temperatures range from 30 to 110 degrees in processing departments.
Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant. Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical hazards are also present. The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick. Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 50 lbs., and to stand for long periods of time.
Knowledge- To strive to meet all daily ship schedules.
- Know metal detector policy and proper handling of product.
- To keep the packing equipment and work area in a safe and orderly manner.
- Know and understand how to keep area clean.
- To have an up to date inventory of packing supplies.
- Have knowledge of sanitation procedures.
- Be willing to rotate jobs.
- Know and understand good manufacturing practices.
- Know and understand safety guidelines.
- Know and understand lockout/tag out procedures.
- Other jobs as assigned.
High school education or equivalent preferred. Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Ability to communicate and work well with others in a team effort.
