Responsibilities- Perform visual inspections of welded structural steel assemblies.
- Inspect products for compliance with AWS D1.1, AISC, customer specifications, and engineering drawings.
- Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Verify welder qualifications and approved welding procedures.
- Complete inspection reports and quality documentation.
- Conduct in-process and final weld inspections.
- Identify weld defects and recommend corrective actions.
- Support AISC quality initiatives and quality management systems.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and management teams to resolve quality concerns.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Help maintain inspection readiness for customer and AISC audits.
- Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Certification
- Minimum of 3 years of welding inspection experience
- Experience inspecting structural steel fabrication
- Strong knowledge of AWS welding codes and AISC standards
- Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld symbols
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production teams
- 3–5+ years of heavy structural steel fabrication experience
- Experience supporting QA/QC programs within manufacturing
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles
Pay: $64,000 to $68,000 | Full-Time
