Summary
:
The Production Worker II follows all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Food Safety rules and regulations. They feed and load packing materials to the production line, verify quality standards, stack cases onto pallets, and maintain good housekeeping for multiple production lines. This role does not have direct reports.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP, and SOP.
- Support continuous operation of the production lines through manual tasks such as packing, stacking, dumping, operating and tending case equipment (maker, packer, coder, sealer), maintaining supply of caps, bags, boxes, and box parts.
- Record and count bundles/cases of containers provided to the production line.
- Communicate container needs with forklift driver.
- Immediately identify non‑conforming product or equipment and report to supervisor.
- Perform sanitation maintenance on all equipment.
- Conduct visual inspections of materials and final products to meet quality requirements.
- Record data clearly and accurately follow production guidelines.
- Use safety cutters and small hand tools as required.
- Follow safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.
- Ensure food product quality and safety.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Preferably 1 year experience within a food processing, bottling, liquid filling/blending and/or consumer goods manufacturing/packing environment.
- Ability to use common hand tools, weight scale, and thermometer.
- Continuous mental and visual attention required for repetitive or diversified work.
- Basic mathematics skills required.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new job‑related software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Respectful and works well with all levels of personnel.
- Able to perform on‑call duty and work overtime on short notice; long‑term temporary assignments may be required.
- Ability to work in high temperatures (hot or cold), at heights, and with exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes, chemicals, requiring PPE.
- Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to see, sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, reach, bend, twist, ascend/descend.
- Ability to pull, push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; 50+ lbs. with assistance.
