Position Overview

As a Material Handler II you will be responsible for the daily operations of Stores. Material Handler II’s primary role is to accurately receive and ship materials such as parts, oils, hazmat, and other items daily. Your role is to support the staff with a sense of urgency while carefully managing sensitive items such as aircraft parts and hazardous materials. You will have additional responsibilities as the Material Handler II including but not limited to:
Conducting monthly reports, spot checks, ability to train new employees, and increased accountability & communication with the Stores Supervisor.

  • Pick, pull, and pack aircraft parts.
  • Maintaining hazardous materials when needed.
  • Inspect aircraft engine paperwork and parts daily.
  • Prepare items for shipping and receiving.
  • Support maintenance technicians need for parts, hazmat, and other materials.
  • Advise & report all discrepancies to the Stores Supervisor on a daily basis.
  • Complete cycle counts and periodic inventory checks when needed.
  • Efficiently assist with training for new hires in Stores when needed.
  • Safely operate an electric stand-up forklift and heavy-duty forklift.
  • Load and unload shipments when needed.
Requirements
  • 2+ years’ experience handling and packaging in aviation materials.
  • 2+ years working knowledge of ATA Spec 300 standards.
  • The ability to identify any gaps in back to birth trace paperwork.
  • Ability to point out discrepancies with 8130, EASA FORM 1, CAAC, and other types of tags.
  • Knowledge of BER, Scrap, SV, RP, AR condition codes.
  • Familiar with IPC manuals and understand know how to find a part in the IPC manual.
  • Experience with effectively managing turbine aircraft parts, avionics, bearings, gears, IDGs, fan blades and more.
  • Understand the difference between a repair order and a purchase order at a 145 Repair Station.
  • FAA 145 Repair Station or ASA-100 experience a plus.
  • Ability to use hand trucks, handheld tape dispensers, and utility knives, tensioners, and crimpers for strapping crates.
  • Problem‑solving skills and excellent work ethic.
  • Attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to use Quantum Control and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work well with others and lead by example.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional.
  • Ability to work safely and responsibly.
  • Ability to lift over 50 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods during a shift.
  • Ability to climb, kneel, and crawl when needed.
  • Ability to hear, listen, and talk.
  • Ability to work in hot or cold temperatures.
