Position OverviewUnder the supervision of the Shop Manager, the Laser Operator will primarily operate and maintain CO2 engraving and cutting lasers along with related tools and equipment. The role also includes assembly, machine operation, and shop floor maintenance as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Performance review after 6 months.
- Operate CNC laser engraving and cutting machines and assist other machine operators as needed.
- Prefer experience with TRUMPF TRUSTORE 3030 machine.
- Set up lenses, load programs, adjust machine parameters, and fixtures for optimal equipment performance.
- Establish proper stop locations and adjust laser beam focal points.
- Create and edit laser cut files from CAD drawings using software such as Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator.
- Manage and maintain files to ensure consistent revision levels.
- Monitor chiller system and process gases, and report reordering levels.
- Demonstrate acute attention to detail and focus on assigned tasks.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Conduct dimensional inspections.
- Identify and report defective materials or irregular conditions.
- Execute typical machine shop operations to aid in the production and fabrication of plastic parts.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of machine functions to fulfill assigned tasks.
- Accept supervision and assistance in machine set‑up as needed.
- Work autonomously with minimal supervision following work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adhere to proper safety protocols and wear appropriate safety equipment at all times.
- Contribute positively to maintaining a safe, organized, and tidy workplace environment.
