Dal‑Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Machinist II to provide advanced machining support by producing and repairing precision metal parts for manufacturing equipment while following standard operating and safety procedures.
Compensation & Schedule- $2,000 Sign‑on Bonus
- 1st Shift
- Monday–Thursday 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Creates, repairs, and fabricates precision metal parts used in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment across Dal‑Tile operations.
Responsibilities- Produces metal parts for the repair of mechanical and other equipment.
- Operates manual milling machines, lathes, and other machine‑shop equipment according to blueprint specifications.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, and specifications to fabricate precision parts.
- Performs precision measurements using machinist tools and inspection equipment.
- Troubleshoots machining issues and recommends practical repair solutions.
- Performs welding (Stick, TIG, and MIG) as needed to support equipment repair and fabrication.
- Follows standard operating and safety procedures.
- Keeps supervisor informed of work in progress and any problem areas.
- Keeps work area safe, clean, and organized.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Knowledge of common metal properties.
- 3 or more years of industrial machinist experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good record‑keeping skills.
- Good listening skills.
- Accurate measurement capability.
- Good math skills.
- Knowledge of Word processors and spreadsheets.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Must be able to differentiate between various colors.
- Ability to apply quality audit procedures and defect analysis in ceramic tile.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Strong leadership and team‑building skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and operate manual machining equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. They are required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They may sit, climb or balance, talk or hear. They may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock or vibration, fumes or airborne particles, a wide range of temperatures, and loud noise levels.
