Mestex is seeking an experienced Electrical Leadman – Level 2 to lead our electrical manufacturing team supporting the production of custom engineered HVAC equipment. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for driving daily production, ensuring quality workmanship, mentoring team members, and delivering products that meet our customers' expectations. What

You'll Do

As the Electrical Leadman, you will oversee electrical assembly, panel shop operations, testing, and fan balancing while ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are achieved.

  • Lead daily electrical assembly, panel shop builds, unit testing, and fan balancing activities.
  • Assign work and coordinate labor to maximize productivity and workflow.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with engineering drawings, schematics, NEC requirements, and company standards.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and support resolution of production issues.
  • Coordinate panel shop output with assembly schedules.
  • Lead functional testing and verify proper system performance.
  • Monitor production flow and proactively resolve bottlenecks.
  • Escalate engineering concerns, material shortages, and production risks.
Team Leadership
  • Coach, mentor, and develop electrical team members.
  • Establish daily priorities and production expectations.
  • Hold team members accountable for quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Support employee training and cross‑functional development.
  • Serve as the primary leader for electrical manufacturing operations.
Quality & Safety
  • Ensure all electrical work meets quality standards with minimal rework.
  • Verify wiring accuracy and system functionality.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Maintain testing documentation and production records.
  • Enforce OSHA, company safety policies, PPE requirements, and 5S standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Standardize best practices across electrical operations.
  • Support initiatives that improve throughput, efficiency, and product quality.
Qualifications Required
  • 5–8 years of electrical experience in manufacturing, industrial, or commercial environments.
  • Previous leadership experience as a Leadman, Lead Technician, Senior Electrician, or similar role.
  • Strong ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and performing root cause analysis.
  • Experience with electrical assembly, control panel wiring, equipment testing, and startup.
  • Strong understanding of production scheduling, workflow coordination, and labor management.
Preferred
  • Experience in engineered‑to‑order manufacturing.
  • HVAC manufacturing experience highly preferred.
  • Experience with industrial fan systems and airflow balancing.
  • Journeyman Electrician License.
  • NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to mentor and develop employees.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and extended hours when production demands require.
