Body Shop Prepper

Cox Automotive is seeking a Body Shop Prepper to support high-quality vehicle reconditioning in a fast-paced shop environment. In this role, you'll prepare vehicles for paint by sanding, masking, priming, and inspecting surfaces to ensure a flawless finish. You'll work closely with painters and body technicians, maintaining tools and equipment while following strict safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles for painting, including sanding, masking, and priming surfaces
• Inspect bodywork for defects and ensure proper surface preparation
• Mix and apply primers and sealers according to specifications
• Maintain tools, spray guns, and prep equipment in safe working condition
• Collaborate with painters and body technicians to meet quality and production goals
• Follow safety, environmental, and PPE standards in the body shop
• Document work performed and report any issues with materials or equipment
• Support continuous improvement and 5
• S/lean practices in the shop
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members on job status
• Uphold Cox Automotive quality and customer satisfaction standards
