The Millwright assembles, installs, alters, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, inspects, maintains, dismantles, and moves machinery and equipment at ECCO’s Manufacturing Plant. This role will also fabricate and install custom machine parts and components for repairs and educate production workers on safe and proper machine set up and operation.
Key responsibilities General Duties- Make a personal commitment to consistently provide superior customer service to ECCO’s customers so they will want to do repeat business with ECCO Manufacturing
- Maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and ECCO employees
- Read and comply with ECCO’s Human Resources Policies and Procedures
- Read and comply with ECCO’s Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
- Assist in the success of ECCO’s Safety Program with suggestions, by setting a good example, and by ensuring that safety is at the forefront of your actions while at work
- Adhere to all DWC safety regulations with respect to lockouts
- Report any accidents, incidents and near-misses immediately to your supervisor
- Develop and carry out a routine and preventive maintenance program
- Maintain, repair, and install machinery and equipment, and assemble/adjust parts or components
- Move or overhaul machines, calculate the strength and load to safely move/remove machinery, assemble and install equipment safely, align and assemble machines and equipment using tools
- Ensure timely and accurate collection of maintenance related records and reports, recommend corrective actions as required
- Help Improve equipment reliability while reducing costs related to maintenance
- Construct simple shop drawings for custom parts and components as needed
- Build special tooling, jigs, fixtures, and other custom parts and components for repairs
- Maintain and repair other plant equipment and property i.e. racking, doors, stc.
- Train and orient employees on safe and proper set up and operation of machines and equipment
- Train and help develop junior maintenance employees
- Maintain a clean and orderly machine shop, and keep an inventory of supplies, equipment, and tools
- Recommend purchase of related equipment or supplies, order and/or pick-up approved machinery parts and other machine shop supplies as required
- Participate in yearly inventory count
- Participate in the implementation of plant improvement projects
Other duties as deemed necessary by Management
Qualifications- Certified Millwright or equivalent
- Post-secondary diploma or equivalent
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to conduct continuous repetitive movements with fingers, hands, wrists and arms
- Ability to continuously grasp, reach, and lift above and below shoulder level
- Ability to train and coach other team members
- Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders
- Good understanding of mechanical drawings
- Troubleshooting skills and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in the use of tools and equipment used for machining
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete essential duties in an efficient and timely manner
