Job Description
Direct Counsel represents an Am Law 100 firm seeking a Client Development Specialist to support its Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston offices. This role partners closely with the Senior Regional Marketing Manager and Office Managing Partners to drive local marketing strategy, strengthen client relationships, and align regional efforts with firm-wide business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be based in the Dallas office.
CoreResponsibilities
- Serve as the primary marketing lead for assigned Texas offices.
- Develop and execute localized marketing strategies in partnership with office leadership and the Senior Regional Marketing Manager.
- Build relationships with clients and prospective clients using firm networks and personal outreach.
- Plan and execute targeted events, meetings, and industry engagement opportunities.
- Understand key practice areas in each market and recommend thought leadership, client engagement activities, and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor competitive positioning and provide informed strategic recommendations.
- Manage local marketing budgets and ensure alignment with regional strategy.
- Lead and track partnerships with civic organizations, industry groups, and educational institutions to elevate brand presence.
- Collaborate with the broader Marketing team on lists, communications, and promotional initiatives.
- Maintain data for ROI, relationship tracking, and reporting purposes.
- Stay current on legal market trends and best practices in professional services marketing.
- Attend regular leadership meetings to support communication, branding, and business development priorities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Prior law firm experience preferred
. - Ability to work outside standard business hours and travel as needed.
- Strong professionalism, client service skills, and interpersonal communication.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to present solution options.
- Budget management experience and ability to drive cost-effective strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Operates with urgency, reliability, and responsiveness.
- Able to manage multiple competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive, resourceful mindset.
- Comfortable working under pressure and adapting to change.
- Salary range is $135,000 - $150,000 per year (based on experience)
- First-Year Bonus: Minimum guaranteed bonus of $25,000
- Additional First-Year Discretionary Bonus: Based on productivity and effort during the ramp-up period (not ROI-dependent)
- Performance-based bonus tied to:
- Uncovered opportunities
- Meetings scheduled
- Client conversion
- No cap on bonus potential

- Benefits are eligible 1st of the month after starting date
