POSITION SUMMARY: The Dallas Outreach Coordinator provides executive leadership and strategic oversight of the Comanche Nation Dallas Outreach, serving as the primary liaison between the Comanche Nation and its non-local tribal members residing in Texas. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of outreach initiatives, resources, events, and communications that align with the mission and ordinances of the Comanche Nation, Comanche Business Committee (CBC), and Tribal Administration.
The Coordinator ensures operational excellence, cultivates partnerships, supervises outreach staff and volunteers, manages budgets and reports, and supports the needs of tribal members living outside tribal jurisdiction. This role plays a critical part in advancing community engagement, cultural preservation, and resource access for the Comanche community in Texas.
Leadership & Program Management:
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the Dallas Outreach and its initiatives.
- Supervise office staff and volunteers, ensuring roles are clearly defined and work is effectively delegated.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and culturally respectful environment for tribal members and guests.
- Ensure the operation of the Dallas Outreach program meets the expectations and needs of Comanche tribal members in Texas.
- Oversee the effective and efficient day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring services are delivered with quality, consistency, and cultural relevance.
- Continuously monitor program activities to assess performance, identify improvements, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Administrative & Financial Oversight:
- Track, prioritize, and manage details, timelines, data, and reports related to program services and activities.
- Prepare and submit reports, proposals, and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) reviews.
- Monitor and manage the program budget in coordination with the Tribal Administrator, Financial Department, CBC, and Tribal Accountants, ensuring responsible stewardship of tribal resources.
- Perform general accounting activities related to the program including preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Manage the program’s budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial accountability and appropriate use of tribal resources.
- Prepare and submit financial documentation and reports to required entities in a timely and accurate manner.
Outreach Planning & Coordination:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate outreach strategies that align with the mission and goals of the Comanche Nation.
- Develop innovative and culturally grounded approaches to improve the reach and impact of the program.
- Create and oversee the annual outreach plan, including community events, cultural programming, and resource distribution.
- Use data and community feedback to inform decision-making and improve services.
- Oversee the coordination of recurring and special events, including cultural activities, meet & greets, elder programs, youth programs, and wellness initiatives.
- Ensure culturally relevant programming that promotes identity, language, and traditions.
- Encourage intergenerational participation and create inclusive spaces for all age groups.
Communication & Digital Outreach:
- Oversee internal and external communication strategies across multiple platforms including emails, phone calls, texts, social media, the Comanche Nation website, and the Dallas Outreach website.
- Ensure timely communication with tribal members about events, opportunities, and services.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with Comanche Nation departments regarding tribal members, events, opportunities, and services.
- Collaborate with the Tribal Administrator, Public Information Office (PIO), Public Relations (PR) Office, and other tribal entities to ensure consistent messaging.
Community Relations:
- Serve as the primary representative of the Comanche Nation Dallas Outreach at tribal events, local functions, and public meetings.
- Act as a liaison between non-local tribal members and the Comanche Nation, Administration, CBC, and all other tribal departments.
- Advocate for the needs of non-local Comanche tribal members in tribal planning.
- Foster and maintain relationships with local organizations, service providers, educational institutions, and other tribal programs.
Operations & Compliance:
- Ensure proper use of scheduling tools, documentation systems, and communication platforms such as Facebook, WIX CRM, the Dallas Outreach website, and Google Business Suite.
- Maintain and enforce policies and procedures in accordance with the outreach program’s Standard Operating Procedures.
