Program / Project Manager
The Director of Development for Halperin Park is responsible for leading and executing thepark's fundraising, donor engagement, and revenue development strategies. This leadership role focuses on building strong relationships with individual donors, foundations,corporations, and public partners to support the long-term mission and sustainability of Halperin Park.
The Director of Development works closely with the President & CEO, Board of Directors, and leadership team to advance Halperin Park's mission through strategic fundraising initiatives and meaningful donor engagement. The successful candidate for this role will have the ability to leverage existing relationships and donor channels while establishing meaningful new partnerships and outreach.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Work within the existing comprehensive fundraising strategy to support Halperin Park's operating, capital, and programmatic needs while developing strategies forfuture outreach
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors
- Manage major gifts, annual giving, sponsor ships, grants, and special fundraising campaigns
- Collaborate with park leadership to align development efforts with organizational priorities and community impact goals
- Work closely with the CEO and outreach committees to support fundraising initiatives and donor outreach
- Oversee donor stewardship programs, including recognition, communications, and engagement activities
- Develop and manage fundraising events and campaigns in collaboration with Programming and Operations teams
- Prepare grant proposals, reports, and related materials; manage grant compliance and reporting requirements
- Oversee maintenance of accurate donor records and reports using CRM or donor management systems
- Develop and manage the development budget, including revenue projections and expense tracking
- Ensure consistent, professional communication with donors, sponsors, and partners
- Represent Halperin Park at community events, donor meetings, and public functions
- Support sponsorship strategy development for park programs, events, and facilities
- Collaborate with Communications and Marketing partners to advance fundraising messaging
- All other reasonable duties as assigned by leadership
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or advancement
- Demonstrated success securing individual, corporate, and foundation support
- Strong relationship-building and stewardship skills
- Experience working with boards and senior leadership on fundraising initiatives
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of donor databases, CRM systems, and fundraising best practices
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by donor events and park activities
- Commitment to equitable, inclusive, and community-centered fundraising practices
- Comfort representing the organization publicly and engaging diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of or experience working in Oak Cliff or Southern Dallas communities is a plus
- Experience with capital campaigns, sponsor ships, or public-private partnerships is a plus
