This position is responsible for annual giving fundraising and donor engagement activities for the foundation and/or programs specific to hospital entities within their assigned region. In addition to supporting the Foundation’s annual campaigns, the specialist will be expected to maintain a portfolio and solicit gifts up to $10,000 from individuals, foundations, and corporations on an ongoing basis, building relationships with prospects and existing donors through one-on-one interactions.
The specialist will be involved with overseeing donor engagement strategies for their assigned region including affinity groups, cultivation events and volunteer fundraising. This position will also play a significant role in identifying annual fund donors who are ready to move into the major gift program.
Manages a portfolio of annual giving prospects. Conducts outreach to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward individual community members, foundations, and corporations for the purpose of determining if they have the financial ability, capacity and interest in making an annual gift to the foundation and/or assigned hospital entity programs. Develop and execute effective solicitation strategies to secure annual fund Circle of Giving ($1,000+) level donations and secure event underwriting/sponsor ships.
Will work with the VP Foundation to transition those donors who are ready to move into the major gifts program.
Works in collaboration with other development team members, including the director of annual fund, major gift officers, planned giving and advancement services team to support employee giving campaigns, North Texas Giving Day, Birthday Buddies, direct mail/e solicitation, and Grateful Patient programs in their assigned region in order to achieve annual fund goals.
Donor EngagementCoordinate cultivation and volunteer working group meetings (annual fund drives, affinity group, third party events etc.). Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with potential and current Circle of Giving ($1,000+) donors through in-person meetings, personalized communication and tailored cultivation strategies. Drive the recruitment of volunteers to execute on Foundation strategies effectively. This may include special projects, events and/or affinity groups. Work in collaboration with the event specialist to ensure volunteer event committees are supported.
Work in collaboration with Foundation and hospital/system leadership on assigned affinity groups. Work in collaboration with the event specialist to ensure cultivation events are executed.
Maintains timely records of all cultivation strategies, evaluations, solicitations and results of contacts with prospects within the Foundation database.
EducationH.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required;
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
3 Years Experience in volunteer management and fund development Required; 3 Years Marketing/Sales experience Required;
Direct fund solicitation experience Preferred;
Non Profit Experience is a Plus.
Excellent written and verbal skills in addition to proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively articulate the mission/vision of the Foundation and the entities we represent and demonstrated experience working with individuals who have philanthropic capacity.
