Position: Development and Event Manager Location: TEXAS - Dallas/Fort Worth Headquarters Full / Part Time

This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Development and Events Manager provides support to the Director of Development by leading and/or assisting in appeal efforts, managing events throughout the year, including the annual fundraising gala and oversees the support team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in appeal efforts throughout the year including design, communication pieces, target list and video initiatives.
  • Manage all aspects of the annual fundraising gala and any other events the Development Team has throughout a year, including:
    • Tracking of revenue streams: sponsor ships, table and ticket sales, live auction, silent auction, raffle, and scholarship appeal.
    • Oversight of all event aspects including but not limited to venue, audio/visual, décor, programming, print collateral, VIP reception, PR, celebrity communication, volunteers, and in‑kind donations.
    • Solicit and secure in‑kind donations, sponsor ships, participants, and volunteers for fundraising events.
    • Prepare materials for special fundraising events, such as invitations, sponsorship forms, bid sheets, and other related materials.
  • Develop and build ongoing and new relationships with individuals, foundations, business owners, camper families, and corporate contacts for Cowboys & Cowboys.
  • Work with marketing to develop video initiatives and collateral for giving.
  • Monitor budgets, expense reports, or other financial data for Cowboys & Cowboys.
  • Attend community events, meetings, and conferences to promote organizational goals or solicit donations or sponsor ships.
  • Recruit and provide oversight for volunteer staff for events.
  • Communicate with Director of Development through required weekly updates and financial reports. In absence of Director of Development, the Development & Event Manager will report to the President and CEO.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications Education
  • College degree preferred.
Experience
  • A seasoned development professional with a minimum of five years of experience and familiarity with best practices in the field, including event management aspects such as planning, budgeting, revenue generation, programming, venue coordination, and execution of events raising a minimum of $750,000. Preferred to have prior experience in a non‑profit, faith‑based organization.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting ambitious fundraising goals.
  • Capital campaign experience preferred.
Knowledge
  • Solid grasp of all facets of advancement work, from databases to major gifts to stewardship.
    · Familiarity with the grant making process.
  • Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Fundraising software. Basic internet and social media skills.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi‑tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to customers (students and parents,) clergy and staff of various Christian churches and organizations of all sizes, cultural identities and worship styles, co‑workers, peers, board members and donors.
  • Ability to imagine fundraising potential and secure support where no natural constituency exists.
  • Ability to prepare moderately complex reports.
  • Ability to exercise independent thinking and initiative. Excellent communicator, both as a presenter in meetings and through written and other forms of communications.
  • Excellent organizational skills: ability to multi‑task and manage a variety of tasks. Ability to maintain confidentiality of donors and prospects.
  • Ability to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
