United Way of Metropolitan Dallas is seeking an experienced professional for the Southern Dallas Thrives Initiative based in Dallas, TX 75202.

Overview

Southern Dallas Thrives is a multifaceted vehicle of social change focusing on education, income, health, and nonprofit capacity building in under‑resourced southern Dallas communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Relationship‑Building with Key Stakeholders
    • Strengthen existing relationships and forge new partnerships with community leaders, service providers, corporations, funders, public sector, educational institutions, coalitions, and other stakeholders.
    • Represent UWMD in community coalitions, conferences, and other venues related to education, income, capacity building, and/or health.
    • Communicate with other United Way departments, agencies, and community representatives, stakeholders, and funders.
    • Coordinate efforts with Marketing, Finance, Resource Development, and Volunteer Engagement.
  • Program and Operations Management
    • Manage current and future operations, processes, procedures, and projects supporting Southern Dallas Thrives.
    • Identify new collaborative and support opportunities across multiple sectors.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive impact data & tracking system for Southern Dallas Thrives programs and partner collaboratives.
    • Identify new opportunities to support impact programming for community members and partners.
    • Support the implementation of UWMD’s impact goals, programs, collaborations, and methodology.
  • Grants and Service Provider Relationship Management
    • Review grant proposals and oversee the portfolio of grants funded through the Southern Dallas Thrives initiative.
    • Serve as program and event engagement implementation and execution lead for Southern Dallas Thrives and UWMD.
    • Provide ongoing support to partner agencies, monitoring outcomes to ensure programs align with the 10‑Year Community Goals.

Job Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; degree in urban planning, public administration, business administration, communications, or related fields preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of work experience required. Master’s degree may substitute for two years of experience. Background in program development and management, business administration, and/or non‑profit management strongly desired.
