Development Associate, Events and Engagement
The Family Place empowers survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.
Position Summary:
In this position as Development Associate, Events & Engagement, you will support The Family Place's fundraising and community engagement efforts through administrative, logistical, and donor support for events and development initiatives that strengthen awareness and support for our mission.
You'll assist with the coordination and execution of signature fundraising events, including Partners Card, Reu Night, and Community Advisory Council meetings, handling everything from guest lists and registration to sponsorship stewardship, volunteer coordination, and on-site event support. Support donor and sponsor relationships through follow-up communication, acknowledgments, and fulfillment of sponsorship benefits while maintaining accurate records in Raiser's Edge and helping coordinate across departments to ensure event deliverables stay on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and execution for fundraising and engagement events, including Partners Card, Reu Night, Community Advisory Council meetings, and corporate engagement opportunities.
- Support event logistics, including guest lists, registration, nametags, seating, signage, auction or raffle materials, vendor coordination, and event setup.
- Help maintain event timelines, calendars, checklists, and production documents.
- Provide on-site support during events, including guest hospitality, registration management, troubleshooting, and post-event breakdown.
- Assist with tracking sponsorship materials, auction items, and event inventory.
Donor and Sponsor Support
- Support donor and sponsor stewardship efforts through follow-up communication, mailings, acknowledgments, and fulfillment of sponsorship benefits.
- Assist in preparing donor packets, presentations, event materials, and meeting documents.
- Help maintain accurate donor and event records within Raiser's Edge or other CRM systems.
- Support outreach and coordination with volunteers, committee members, vendors, and community partners.
Team & Project Coordination
- Provide general administrative support to the Development team related to events and engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate meeting scheduling, supply ordering, invoice tracking, and other project-related tasks.
- Collaborate across departments to help ensure event deliverables and communications remain on schedule.
- Assist with post-event reporting, survey collection, and data organization.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1–3 years of professional experience preferred, including internships or experience in:
Events, Nonprofit organizations, Customer service or hospitality, Administrative coordination, Marketing or communications. - Strong interest in nonprofit fundraising, community engagement, or event management preferred.
Licenses and
Certifications:
Valid Texas Driver's License and a clear driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, positive, and service-oriented approach when interacting with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Comfortable working occasional evenings and weekends in support of events.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with Raiser's Edge or similar CRM systems preferred.
